[glow=red,2,300]Dear Diary,[/glow]
I was up late last night charting our voyage for tomorrow's cargo ship to Tortuga. We'll be carrying guns and gun powder to trade with them. Both will be in seperate rooms down below deck for safety, of course.
And then, as usual, Father's maids woke me up early today. But as I looked at the sun outside, I realized it hadn't risen as high as it usually had when they woke me up. I asked them why they'd gotten me up earlier than usual, but they just started dusting my trinkets.
I sat up in my bed. Then my door opened, and two more maids and my father walked in. The two maids were carrying a rather large box. They walked in and handed it to me. As I lifted the lid off, my father explained that he thought I needed more dresses, so he had gotten me one. It was rather beautiful, considering that I didn't think highly of very many dresses. It was a velvet material, with floral patters woven into it in gold thread. Off-white lace lined the bottom, the sleeves, and the neckline. I thanked my father and, just to please him, I had my maids help me put it on. To my distaste, I found it was another one of those bloody corsets. Once it was on, I showed my dad how it looked. He told me it looked lovely. I was too breathless to speak, so I just nodded and smiled. My father smiled back, and he left the room, taking all four maids with him.
As soon as he left, I loosened the corset and took a deep breath. Then, deciding it was time to get read for my voyage, I got on my white bell shirt and brown cargo pants. I strapped my prized possesion on, too; My sword that had a rose engraved into the blade and into the golden hilt. My mother's favorite flower was a rose, so I had asked Will Turner to put roses on it. No one knows of this blade, though. No one but me and Will.
As usual, I now have my dress on over my normal outfit. It's the only way to get out of the house without my father giving me a speech about how dangerous my voyages are. He never approved of them, but he understands that I am skilled with the sword, and that I'll be safe. But he doesn't know that I also go to find clues to my mother's killer. To that, he would certainly not approve. The only people who know of that are my two favorite maids, the ones who wake me up each morning. Pretty soon I'll be leaving. I can barely breathe. I need to get to the dock in order to take this dress off for my voyage. That is all, I'll write when I get back from Tortuga.
